In one of our seminars today we were discus
sing Glamour. What is Glamour? What is it that portrays Glamour?
The controversial conversation I personally found very interesting, concerning that of celebrities.
Some may say that Katie Price is 'Glamorous', due to her dress sense, her love for designer and not forgetting her ever - changing 'big' hair. However, could this be an idealisation of what we think Glamour represents, or simply a misunderstanding?
Glamour was first defined during the 19th Century, it is usually associated with Women, implying a form of sophisticated feminine allure.
Glamorous women often express an attitude of self - possession and assertiveness in conflict with traditional models of femininity, however, it is not always recognised through silky dresses, red lipstick and long flowing hair - but through class, poise and persona.
